I am trying to start my own business in the Immigration field. I have 6 years of heavy experience in regards to Immigration and its laws. I have worked with various prestigious Immigration attorneys and other organizations. I have finally decided to become my own boss. However, I have received very little information on how to start my own business. I have heard that there are grants that the government provides, but I don’t know where to go. I have searched the internet and have found very little. If any one of you can advice as to where to go or where to call, that will be very helpful. By the way I live in Dallas, TX and the competition is great, however, my ideas as to how to run the business are not liked by attorneys or organizations because they don’t like to have payment plans. Please help in any way you can.

I own a small business and I keep getting relocated within the U.S. Because of this I have to change my business phone number and I am sure I am losing sales not to mention ticking off my current clients with an ever changing phone number. Can someone give me some advice as to how I should set up my business number so I don’t have to change it all the time preferably without an 800 number? Thank you for your time in advance!

I am starting a small business and want to know what steps I need to do to ship to international destinations like Japan, Korea, or Mexico. My product is simple, similar to business cards, but I am trying to learn what steps I need to take to legally offer my goods in those countries. Do I simply fill out a customs form at the Post Office and I’m all set? Or are there “export agreements” or more complicated decisions I have to make? Legally, if I send my product to a client in Japan, for example, am I subject then to Japanese laws and possibly liable _in_ Japan for breaches of some license that I may be totally unaware of? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Again, this is not a product like tobacco or alcohol, but simple pre-printed cards (very similar to business cards) that have a clients’ info on them. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

In the process of opening a new business. How do business loans work - I know I need a business plan etc before I can apply for a loan, but what’s some other info? What’s the interest rate range, what’s the range of how many yrs u can have the loan, range of amnt they can loan, will they include the first yrs lease amnt in the loan if needed…etc, etc?
We have good credit.

I have one of the Matthew Lesko books, and see some possibiliites for small business grants. They all ask for a formal business plan in order to apply. I have everything set up in my head, but don’t know the format to write one.
